A multi-professional team which work closely together to ensure consistency of care for both you and your family.
The In-Patient Ward is led by the Head of Ward, Wendy Jones, supported by Team Leaders, Sarah Wells, Shay Valler and Ward Coordinator, Emma Plant. Along with a team of Registered Nurses, Hospice Paramedics, Nursing Assistants and Health Support Workers who have a variety of experience and are trained in palliative and end-of-life care. We understand that this is a difficult time for you and your relatives and aim to ensure that the highest level of dignity and quality of life is achieved.
We are supported in all that we do on the In-Patient Ward by a team of volunteers who's roles cover administration, hospitality and care. Our volunteers also support in listening roles, this could mean simply having a chat, reading the papers or playing cards.
Your medical condition and needs will be assessed daily by your medical team, led by our Palliative Care Consultant. She is supported by speciality doctors and doctors who are fully qualified and training further to become consultants in palliative care or GPs in the community.
You may also be visited on the In-Patient Ward by other healthcare professionals including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Complimentary Therapists, Spiritual Care Chaplain or one of our Counsellors.
