Privacy Information & Communication Preferences

As a complex & diverse organisation we collect different sources of data about the people we interact with. We are highly conscious of our responsibilities for data protection and the legislation around this. At each point that we collect data from people we will make clear:

  • The type of data we are collecting and why it is needed
  • The lawful basis for collecting the data and any ongoing communication you may receive from us.
  • Whether we will need to share your data and why.
  • Who to contact if you wish to exercise your rights in relation to data about you.

We will never sell your data or data about you to any organisation or third party

Depending on how data about you was collected, you have rights which you can exercise.

 

Health Data

In order to provide continuity of care, we may share your data with the NHS and local system partners, through the Kent and Medway Care Record (KMCR). To access their Privacy notice, and for other information relating to their management of your data, please follow this link:

Individuals can view or change their national data opt-out choice at any time by using the online service or by clicking on “Your Health” in the NHS App, and selecting “Choose if data from your health records is shared for research and planning”.

If you receive an email from us you can either respond to that email asking to change your communication preferences or unsubscribe at the bottom of the email.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
