The service, which is the first of its kind in the UK, provides a safe and specially designed space for families to continue to care for their loved ones, with Hospice support on hand 24/7. The purpose-built building in Five Ashes has 10 patient rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms and specially designed beds to keep families together. Patients come to stay with their loved ones, bringing their own bedding, photos and other possessions to help it feel like home. Pets can also visit!

“Hospice in the Weald, Five Ashes was created to meet a need in the local community. So often patients wish to be cared for by their loved ones, and to have the comforts of home, but the space at home may not be practical and the reality of caring for a loved one at home can be difficult and distressing for the family member providing that care. Our Five Ashes site is an answer for these families. They look after their loved ones in our purpose-built space, with Hospice staff on volunteers available to help them at any time of the day or night. We are so proud that it has been recognised as being a safe, effective and outstanding service for everyone who needs it.”
