On 27th June, Moonlight Walk will see supporters sparkle and shine as they raise vital funds in support of patients and their loved ones at Hospice in the Weald.
Here, our fundraising team share their expertise and top tips for helping you boost your fundraising and make an even bigger difference ahead of the big day…
A personalised page shows why taking part in Moonlight Walk matters to you. When people can relate to your story, they’re often more motivated to donate. Adding photos and sharing why you’re taking part helps create that connection and can make a real difference to how much you raise.
Speaking directly to friends and family can be one of the most effective ways to raise money. People are often more willing to donate when they hear about Moonlight Walk from someone they know and trust. Having a conversation or sending a personal message can really encourage support and help boost your fundraising.
Posting about your fundraising on social media helps spread the word beyond your closest supporters. It reminds people what you’re taking part in, why it matters, and gives them an easy way to support you. Sharing updates, photos, or milestones can encourage donations and may inspire others to get involved too.
Fundraising together means you can reach more people, motivate each other, and make a bigger impact together. Every team member brings their own network, which could help you to raise more money together than you might alone.
Doing something a bit different, like wearing fancy dress, dressing in Hospice colours or personalising your clothes to commemorate the person you’re walking in memory of, can really help your fundraising stand out. It gives people a reason to smile and take notice of what you’re doing. That extra bit of fun can spark interest, encourage sharing, and help bring in more donations.
Many people will be walking in memory of loved ones who were cared for at the Hospice; however, everyone is welcome to take part in Moonlight Walk and experience walking as a collective through Sevenoaks and Knole Park. We hope you find these fundraising tips useful and look forward to seeing you at the event in June!
