Description: A comparatively small-town garden designed for all year-round interest. A North facing plot, it contains a wide variety of plants, framed by Thuya hedges and York stone paths and steps. Evergreen plants including senecio, euonymus, bay, lavenders and pittosporum provide background structure and a cottage style herbaceous border with David Austin roses that will be providing colour in June.  This garden will hopefully be of interest to gardeners faced with similar limited space to fill. A long-standing entry in the Royal Tunbridge Wells in Bloom competition, awarded Gold in the Best Back Garden category.

 

Highlands, The Midway, Nevill Court, Tunbridge Wells, TN4 8NJ

Description: Vast garden with stunning panoramic views of the local area of Nevil Park. The garden, lovingly designed and developed for the past 20 years, consists of several areas at different levels, with smart hard landscaping, diverse tree plantings, shrub beds and herbaceous borders. Fantastic selection of ornamental grasses provide all year interest in the garden; walkway under pergola planted up with roses is a highlight of the summer time. Road parking available near the property at Nevil Close.

Description: A spectacular south-facing terraced garden, new to the tour. Each level provides a distinct planting scheme from mediterranean patio to colourful herbaceous border to woodland trees and shrubs. A Wollemi pine, magnolias, acers, and a secret garden door give this garden special character.

Description: A hidden gem, this well-established garden maximises space with clever design. A cosy patio, seating area, and tranquil water feature offer perfect spots to relax. Full of charm and surprises.

Description: The owners have lived here for 9 years, and it has been an evolving project like any garden. Enjoy lovely spaces within the garden with interest throughout the year, from bulbs in pots, to late salvias and hydrangeas, with a cercis purple small tree and a colourful acer.

Description: Lovingly maintained, flower-filled front garden; a little green haven located next to a busy road. With carefully selected collection of shrubs, perennial and annual plants, this garden provides a home and food for wildlife and adds impactful horticultural interest to the overall look of the neighbourhood. Winner of the Front Garden category in the Royal Tunbridge Wells in Bloom competition.

 

Ivy Chimneys, 28 Mount Sion, Tunbridge Wells, TN1 1TW

Description The property ‘Ivy Chimneys’ dates back to the 1600’s. A large Town Centre garden with herbaceous borders and masses of roses set on 3 layers of lawns enclosed in an old walled garden. This property also boasts a large vegetable garden with flowers for cutting. Winner of the Best Back Garden in the Royal Tunbridge Wells in Bloom competition 2017, awarded Gold in the Champions of Champions category in 2018 and Gold in Best Back Garden 2019.

Description: A small quiet front garden located in the centre of the town with amazing variety of shrubs, roses, perennials, climbers, and succulent displays.  A little pond and a pretty garden building add interest while a wealth of pots create a ‘moveable’ display, which the owners enjoy replanting and repositioning as the mood and the season takes them. Entrant in the Best Front Garden in the Royal Tunbridge Wells in Bloom competition; awarded Gold.

 

Willicombe Park, Audley Villages, Tunbridge Wells, TN2 3UU

Description: Set in four acres of gardens in Royal Tunbridge Wells is Audley Willicombe Park retirement village with a collection of mature trees in a historic landscape. At the heart of the village is Willicombe House, a refurbished Victorian villa that was originally built by William Willicombe in the 1870’s. The site was formerly the St Christopher’s Nursery Training College until it closed in 1976. There is a signposted walk around the site which includes a woodland walk. Awarded Gold in the Royal Tunbridge Wells in Bloom competition Best Business Grounds category.
