Description: Pympne is a Tudor yeoman Manor House built on the wealth of the wool trade in 1485. It sits at the end of a long private driveway surrounded by stands of ancient oak, working coppice woodland and a patchwork of small irregular grazing fields and meadows. The garden has evolved over the years and most recently the renowned landscape architect Tom Stuart Smith has designed and planted the area immediately around the house. You will be able to wander through the three-and-a-half acre garden including a topiary lawn, cut flower garden, pool garden and flower borders. The garden is informally planted with clipped yew hedging. Stone paving and terracing lead to views that open out over the undulating landscape including a seven-acre grazed flower meadow and large wildlife pond.
