Vinnie's story: Running for the Hospice

vinnie after his run

This September, 8-year-old Vinnie will take on his very first 5K at our popular Hospice Run in Tunbridge Wells – and he’s taking on the challenge in memory of his nanny, who he lost at the Hospice when he was just a baby.

Vinnie was too young to remember his nanny, but he visits the Pembury hospice often, always lighting a candle in her memory. To help other families going through similar experiences, Vinnie decided to start fundraising. Inspired by a family friend, Micky, who ran the Paddock Wood Half Marathon, Vinnie set himself the challenge of running a mile…

With the support of friends and family, Vinnie completed his mile in May this year, running around his school field. On top of this, he’s also been fundraising in different ways, raising an amazing amount of money for the Hospice!
