It was an incredible night at our Love Your Labels Lock-in on 25th September, as shoppers queued up to buy designer bargains and treasures in support of patients, and their loved ones, at Hospice in the Weald…
283 supporters attended the event in our Sevenoaks High Street Shop, buying a total of 1009 items, and raising a whopping £16,781.13 for local hospice care.
Imogen, who attended the event, said: “I enjoyed the event, I came last year as well, and I usually visit Hospice in the Weald charity shops. The money is going to a good community, and I believe sustainable fashion is important. It’s fun to see what outfits we can create with pre-loved items, but it also feels good not to support fast fashion.”
A wide variety of high-quality goodies were on offer, including menswear, ladieswear, bric-a-brac, and even Christmas items, all at affordable prices.
Those who purchased exclusive Priority Entry Tickets arrived at 5pm, getting an extra hour to find their favourite designer and high-street brands before they sold out.
Sonal, another customer who came in search of bargains, added: “I got a very beautiful, designer Michael Kors purse and Hollister tops at a very good price! Recycling clothes is helping the environment, and the money raised goes to charity, which does even more good.”
Fuelled by an interest in sustainability, May attended the event after missing our Summer Love Your Labels event in Tonbridge, which she wanted to attend. “In terms of fast fashion, people forget what the materials and quality of items are. I believe in reusing and recycling as much as possible, preventing more waste in landfills, so that someone else can find love in an item that you fell out of love with. If people can help a little bit with buying things from charity shops, then I think they should.”
Thank you to everyone who came along! Each purchase makes a genuine difference, allowing us to continue providing care and support in Kent and Sussex.
