Elizabeth said: “I was privileged to be asked to open the shop because of my long service with the Hospice. Volunteering is a part of my life; it’s a weekly occurrence. My daughter, Mary, is also a volunteer here, so there’s a family link.
“The shop is very attractive, lots of wonderful items for sale, and everything is so reasonably priced. And of course, when you buy from Hospice in the Weald, not only are you contributing to the Hospice funds, but you’re also recycling.”
“The turnout was even better than expected and made for a fitting start to our new shop in Southborough. I feel privileged to work for Hospice in the Weald and truly love what I do. I’m fortunate to have such a supportive team around me, and the new shop is the perfect addition that tops it all off,” said Sarah, Shop Manager.
“Without the Hospice, we are simply a shop. With the Hospice, we become a local charity shop, working to raise funds that support patients and families in our local community. Many of our customers hold the charity close to their hearts, as do our dedicated volunteers,” she added.
