On behalf of everyone at Hospice in the Weald, we would like to thank all of #TeamWeald for their support over the last few months, in training, in fundraising and in running the London Landmarks Half Marathon 2021.
‘’Seeing #TeamWeald on the day gave me an enormous sense of pride, and we hope that our excited cheering gave them an extra push to the finish line’’ – Aimee Frost, Relationship Fundraising Assistant.
Fuller’s Farm Shop, Tunbridge Wells, have always been fantastic supporters of the Hospice in the Weald and have joined us for many campaigns and events throughout the years. This year, June Fuller bought together a team of 8 runners to complete the London Landmarks Half Marathon in aid of Hospice in the Weald. June was joined by Amelia, Millie, Maria, Rosi, Olivia, Nicola and Lillie to complete their fantastic team.
The team have been selling their jute bags and raising vital funds for the Hospice and have gone on to raise an incredible £7727 for Hospice in the Weald and complete the challenging 13.1 miles. June from Fullers Farm shop would like to say
“The day was amazing, the support along the way really helped and the music was really great too.
To get over the finish line was brilliant – It made us all very emotional and knowing how much money we had raised really inspired us to keep going and made us focus as to why we were running.
Our customers have been so supportive and we have been blown away by their generosity’’
Ollie is a local personal trainer and running expert from Halo Gym in Tunbridge Wells and would like to encourage anyone thinking about doing a Half Marathon for the Hospice in the Weald to do it.
“Do it! It’s an amazing experience and the reward of crossing the line is unreal. Combining this with raising money for an awesome charity, if you have the opportunity I would highly recommend it.
It felt so good. To achieve what I set out to do, while raising money for a local charity was really rewarding. It was a great finish to all the training I had put in.”
Ollie also took part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon and would like to say
“It was such a great experience running on Sunday for Hospice in the Weald, I could not recommend it more’’
Laura joined us for the 13.1 miles and has so far raised an amazing £3190 for Hospice in the Weald and as you can see was smiling the entire course. Laura decided to run for the Hospice as
“Having recently become aware of the amazing work that Hospice in the Weald does, and has delivered especially during the pandemic, I thought who better to run for to raise much needed funds so that they can continue to deliver free end of life care to people surrounded by loved ones – which has been nigh on impossible during the pandemic.’’
