Josh and Lisa's story: Running as a family

Watch Josh and Lisa share their story

Encouraged by his mum, Lisa, who first suggested they take part in the Hospice Run three years ago, this year Josh’s family will be running in memory of his Grandma, Eileen.

When Eileen came to the hospice in 2021, she felt safe, cared for, and at peace. Her family could visit freely, with many even staying overnight. She was never alone. This September, her family will be taking part in Hospice Run in her memory, raising funds to support Hospice in the Weald.

It’s truly a family challenge: Josh’s daughter Nicole, soon to turn 17, will run her first 5k; his nine-year-old son Henry will join the Fun Run alongside his grandad, who has never run before! Since starting with the 5k just three years ago, Josh has built up to the 10k and is now training hard for the Half Marathon.

Watch Lisa and Josh share their Hospice Run journey, what it means to them, and the incredible feeling of crossing the finish line together.
