First look: Living Well transformation plans

Discover the latest design concepts for our refreshed Living Well area, counselling rooms and multipurpose spaces on the ground floor, as part of our ongoing refurbishment programme.

These new mood boards – now on display in our Shaping our Spaces room in Pembury – bring to life ideas shaped by the experiences and feedback of staff, volunteers, patients, and families. The bright, uplifting colour palette complements the softer tones of our in-patient ward, creating a warm and cheerful welcome for everyone who visits.

A feature fireplace, gentle panelling and built-in seating are designed to give the space a cosy, homely feel. Modern banquette seating, café-style pendant lighting, additional tables and grouped armchairs, along with a redesigned self-service refreshment area, will offer plenty of opportunities to chat, relax, and enjoy a coffee.

The enlarged gym, featuring glazed screening, will feel more spacious and inviting, while the relocated Living Well office—also with glazed walls—will place our team at the heart of the activity. Adjustable-height, foldable tables for arts and crafts, plus a new acoustic room divide, will allow the space to adapt easily for the wide range of sessions offered in our Living Well programme. Redesigned treatment and consultation rooms will balance tranquillity with practicality for a variety of uses.
