You might remember Colin’s face from last year. A loyal supporter of the Hospice, Colin, a conductor for Southeastern trains, held a number of collections on the trains over the festive period. Complete in Christmas jumper and with a box of chocolates, Colin bought a smile to the faces of passengers as he checked their tickets, and raised an enormous £2,968.64.
Colin said, “Having lost a friend, and more recently a neighbour, I wanted to support the vital work that Hospice in the Weald do to support families coping with their terminal illness. Southeastern trains kindly gave me permission to fundraise whilst at work as a Conductor and many passengers very kindly gave generous donations during the days leading up to Christmas. My collection buckets very quickly filled as chocolates were handed out to passengers. Thank you everyone who supported my Christmas collection.”
Colin chose to collect this year in memory of Simon, whose story you might have seen as part of our Light up a Life appeal. We are so grateful to Colin for his generous and continued support of the Hospice – you’re a true star, Colin!
