Memory Orchard

leaf 2

Remember someone special with a hand-crafted copper leaf

Creating a tribute can be an important step in remembering someone you love. At Hospice in the Weald, the Memory Orchard offers a quiet place to reflect, where each copper leaf tells a personal story. Set within the peaceful gardens at our Pembury hospice, the Memory Orchard looks out across the surrounding orchards and Oast houses.

It is a calm and reflective space where people come to pause, remember, and feel close to those they miss – a space that grows over time, shaped by the people remembered there and the families who visit. By dedicating a leaf, you create a lasting reminder of your loved one while helping other families receive the care and support they need.

Your Memory Leaf

Your leaf is individually hand-made in solid copper and engraved with the name of someone special. Over time, the copper gently changes, meaning every leaf becomes unique - just like the person it represents.

You can choose to have your leaf displayed on the Memory Orchard tree or receive it at home to place somewhere meaningful to you. If your leaf is displayed at the hospice, you are always welcome to visit, spend time here, and reflect.

How it works

In return for a suggested donation of £120, your loved one’s name will be engraved onto a single copper leaf which will be displayed on the Memory Orchard for 12 months. As the year comes to an end, we will write to you with two options: you can either renew your dedication for another year, or have your leaf returned to you in a presentation box.
Each leaf placed on the Memory Orchard helps fund care for local people living with a terminal illness. It helps families spend time together, stay comfortable, and feel supported when it matters most.
