Moonlight Walk 2024

Clare & Friend, Moonlight Walk

Shine bright at Moonlight Walk!

Saturday 15th June 2024 | Sevenoaks Rugby Club | 6pm-12:30am

Dust off your colourful tutus, search for your best face glitter, and reach for your glow in the dark accessories… It’s time to light up the streets of Sevenoaks in memory and celebration of those special to you. Join us for an unforgettable night of walking, music and memories before celebrating with a glass of bubbly at the finish line.

 Walk either our 4 mile 🌙, 8 mile ⭐, or 13 mile 🌒 route

Our Moonlight Walk is not just a stroll; it’s a journey of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Thank you for your interest –  Registration is now closed – We do however accept sign ups on the day at our event village.

We’re being match funded!

Thanks to the support of the wonderful Freddie Green and Family Charitable Foundation, every pound raised for Moonlight Walk 2024 will be doubled!

That means if you raise £50, we’ll receive £100 to put towards vital care for people in our community.

Moonlight Walk tutu's

An evening full of sparkle

🌈 Dress to impress: Unleash your inner sparkle. Adorn yourself in vibrant tutus, glow sticks, and all things dazzling. This is your chance to shine as bright as the moon and honour your loved ones in style.

🌙 Under the moonlight: There’s something truly magical about walking beneath the moon. As the night sky casts its gentle glow, we’ll come together in a spectacle of unity, love, and shared memories.

Moonlight Walk

Unable to walk with us on the 15th? Join our virtual Moonlight Walk, wherever you are this June!

You choose the distance and the route… walk in your local park, your favourite place or even whilst relaxing on holiday.

From the 10th – 16th of June, whether you’re taking part as a school, a community group, with friends or on your own, all are welcome to take part and make a difference. With no restrictions on distance or location, you can stroll under the moonlight (or daylight!) all whilst raising money for Hospice in the Weald.

The Production Hub Sponsor MLW 2024
Thank you to our headline sponsor, The Production Hub for kindly sponsoring Moonlight Walk this year.

🔦 A torch – you will be walking in the dark so please bring a torch to light up the night

📱 A fully charged mobile phone

👟 Comfortable walking shoes

💧 A bottle of water

🍌 Some snacks

☂ A poncho or umbrella in case it rains

📷 A photo or memento of your loved one so they can join us in celebration on the walk

Who can take part in Moonlight Walk?

Everyone is welcome but all participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

What about fundraising?

We ask all Moonlight Walkers over the age of 13 to raise sponsorship for their walk but we would love for younger participants to get involved too with the help of friends and family.

We rely on your sponsorship for the success of Moonlight Walk; this year we are aiming to raise over £80,000 to support patients and their loved ones.

Our fundraising team are here every step of the way to give you easy tips and tricks to reach your fundraising target. When you sign up to Moonlight Walk, an Enthuse fundraising page will automatically be set up for you. Your Enthuse Fundraising page is your online sponsorship platform, that you can personalise, share with friends and family for donations, and keep all up to date with your practice routes and training. You will receive the link via email.

Walkers that raise over a certain amount will be eligible for an exclusive Moonlight Walk gift!

Can I bring my dog?

Yes please! We welcome all well behaved dogs at Moonlight Walk; your furry friend is very welcome.

We just ask that you please keep your dog on the lead throughout the whole walk, especially in Knole Park around the deer.

What measures are in place for participant safety?

The safety of all Moonlight Walk participants is very important to us. All routes will have marshals with phones or radios directing you and answering any questions.

Medical professionals will be walking with participants on all routes and the Raynet radio team will be strategically placed around the route for quick communication.

How long do the routes take?

We’d expect the routes to take approximately:

🌙  4 miles: 1-2 hours

🌙  8 miles – 3-4 hours

🌙  13 miles- 4- 5 hours

We have allocated 5 hours maximum for Moonlight Walk so please make sure you have returned to Sevenoaks Rugby Club by 12:00am at the latest so you can enjoy a glass of fizz and a sit down.

Are the routes suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs?

Unfortunately not. All 3 routes take you through Knole Park where there is limited access to paths, and some areas of the route are cobbled which would not be suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

Are there any toilets on route?

The following businesses will be opening their doors to our walkers, allowing you to use their toilet facilities:

Miller & Carter – TN13 2EN

The Kings Head – TN13 2QA

Halfway House – TN13 2JD

Bull Finch – TN13 2DR

Is walking not for you?

We need over 100 volunteers to make Moonlight Walk possible, without their support, we simply can't go ahead with the event. If you're able to volunteer, please fill in the enquiry form below.

Volunteers are essential to the success of our events, they ensure our participants remain safe and importantly encourage them as they take on their challenge.
The main role of our volunteers is as route guides. You will be given a high vis, a route guide buddy and will be fully briefed ahead of the event with full instructions on where to stand and what direction to send the walkers.
