✨Emily lost both her mum and her best friend in close succession to each other in 2019. The two were significant figures in her life, and they all shared an enthusiasm for walking. Here, Emily shares her story, explaining what walking means to her, and why she is motivated to complete Moonlight Walk this June…
Moonlight Walk: “I lost my mum and my best friend in the same year, which was pretty gruelling, and this is why I am doing the Moonlight Walk. I thought it would work quite nicely with the amount of training I would need to do. A few friends are doing it with me, so it will be a nice social event too. We can walk and put the world to rights whilst raising money for the Hospice.”
We’re really excited to announce that The Indian Dish will be sponsoring and providing a refreshing water station at this year’s Moonlight Walk!
Thank you to the team at The Indian Dish for your generous support and for helping us go the extra mile for our Moonlight Walkers!

Everyone is welcome! All participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
We ask all Moonlight Walkers over the age of 13 to raise sponsorship for their walk but we would love for younger participants to get involved too with the help of friends and family.
We rely on your sponsorship for the success of Moonlight Walk; this year we are aiming to raise over £80,000 to support patients and their loved ones.
Our fundraising team are here every step of the way to give you easy tips and tricks to reach your fundraising target. When you sign up to Moonlight Walk, an Enthuse fundraising page will automatically be set up for you. Your Enthuse Fundraising page is your online sponsorship platform, that you can personalise, share with friends and family for donations, and keep all up to date with your practice routes and training. You will receive the link via email.
Walkers that raise over a certain amount will be eligible for an exclusive Moonlight Walk gift!
Of course! We welcome all well behaved dogs at Moonlight Walk; your furry friend is more than welcome to join in.
We just ask that you please keep your dog on the lead throughout the whole walk, especially in Knole Park around the deer.
The safety of all Moonlight Walk participants is very important to us. All routes will have marshals with phones or radios directing you and answering any questions.
Medical professionals will be walking with participants on all routes and the Raynet radio team will be strategically placed around the route for quick communication.
We’d expect the routes to take approximately:
🌙 4 miles: 1-2 hours
🌙 8 miles: 3-4 hours
🌙 13 miles: 4- 5 hours
We have allocated 5 hours maximum for Moonlight Walk so please make sure you have returned to Sevenoaks Rugby Club by 12:00am at the latest so you can enjoy a glass of fizz and a sit down.
Unfortunately not. All 3 routes will take you through Knole Park, where there is limited access to paths. Some areas of the route are cobbled which would not be suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
The following businesses will be opening their doors to our walkers, allowing you to use their toilet facilities:
Miller & Carter – TN13 2EN
The Kings Head – TN13 2QA
Halfway House – TN13 2JD
Bull Finch – TN13 2DR
We need over 100 volunteers to make Moonlight Walk possible, without their support, we simply can't go ahead with the event. If you're able to volunteer, please fill in the enquiry form below, we'd love to have you a part of the team.
Volunteers are essential to the success of our events, they ensure our participants remain safe and importantly encourage them as they take on their challenge.
The main role of our volunteers are as route guides. You will be given a high vis, a route guide buddy and will be fully briefed ahead of the event with full instructions on where to stand and what direction to send the walkers.
