Volunteer with us
“Hospice in the Weald is happy and proud to be dependent on our volunteers. We have them in every service and every department. We train them and support them and they’re valued by us and the patients.”
Rob Woolley, CEO
Since ‘lockdown’ in March 2020, we have been doing all that we can to keep our workforce of staff and volunteers safe. This meant asking many of our current volunteers not to carry out their usual roles.
We really missed our fantastic volunteers who are such a vital part of the Hospice team!
We have now entered a new phase as part of our response to COVID-19. We are calling this phase ‘Embracing Recovery’. It is about restarting the Services and ways of working which were impacted by our initial response to the pandemic.
The Hospice Leadership Team have worked hard to make Hospice in the Weald ‘Covid Secure’ in order to keep our workforce safe, which means that we have put all appropriate measures in place in response to government guidelines.
Key changes in our Embracing Recovery include the reopening of our shops, as well as the reopening of Hospice Day Service and Cottage Hospice on 1st October. It is important to us to be able to return to ways of working which benefit so many patients and those important to them.
So we would love to hear from you if you would like to volunteer, please contact Gerri Noad, Personnel Co-ordinator 01892 820 544 or email gerri.noad@hospiceintheweald.org.uk
