Visiting the In-Patient Ward
Visitors are welcome to visit the Hospice to see a loved one at any time of the day or night. If our reception is closed then you will need to head to the night entrance (to the right of reception) and ring the bell. If you are staying in one of our family rooms you will be given a pass for ease of access for you.
Children are welcome to visit the hospice at any time, we have a variety of games, books and toys for their entertainment, we also have a TV, DVD Player with a small library of DVDs.
Well behaved pets are also welcome at any time, please speak with the team in advance particularly if you have an unusual pet.
What can I bring to the In-Patient Ward?
We encourage you to bring anything to make your friend or relative’s stay more pleasurable, including flowers, pictures or favourite bedding. If you are unsure about anything, please ask a member of staff.
Our coffee shop is open from 8:30am to 8:30pm selling tea, coffee, sandwiches and light refreshments. We also have a coffee bar in the In-Patient Ward corridor where you can access similar items 24 hours per day.
A range of breakfast items are available in the Sitting Room from which visitors can help themselves. There is an ‘Honesty box’ in place with suggested prices for individual items.
The lunch menu is available on the Welcome Desk and in the Sitting Room and visitors are invited to choose from this between 12noon to 2.00pm. Visitors can choose either to eat on the Ward or may prefer to come to The Eatery (our Restaurant, located on the Lower Ground Floor) which they can do between 1.00pm to 2.00pm.
We have a list of local services available. If you would like to know where you can obtain hot food, accommodation or transport please speak to a member of the team.
