Molly’s Fundraising Mission
Molly, age 6, and her Dad James walked up (and down!) Mount Snowdon on Saturday 24th August, on a route covering nearly 10 miles. This was the furthest Molly had ever walked and is no mean feat for a 6 year old! Saturday’s heat made the challenge even harder but the pair completed it in great time, fundraising for their local Hospice all the way.
Molly and James wanted to support the Hospice after Molly's Mum, Rachael, accessed our care in 2016. The pair wanted to thank the Hospice after "the amazing care and support Rachael received" before she died in 2016.
In a video that James took of Molly half way up, Molly said she thought she’d done well so far but that it was “really hard”. Routing for her all the way were Molly's family, who were firmly behind her as she took on the climb and are now very proud of them both.
47 people have sponsored Molly, raising over £770 for Hospice in the Weald so far. Chiara Creates, Relationship Fundraising Coordinator at the Hospice, said, “It is an enormous accomplishment to have walked Snowdon at just six years old and we are so proud of Molly. The money she has raised will help patients, families and carers treasure the special time they have together, and will inspire so many others to challenge themselves and raise money. What a true inspiration Molly is to us all!”
