Honoured to be honoured!
Joanna Tindall, Hospice in the Weald In-Patient Ward Volunteer has been recognised in the New Year Honours list 2018 for voluntary service. The list recognises the achievements and service of extraordinary people across the United Kingdom. Joanna said, “I was amazed. It is such an honour.”
We have more than 1,000 volunteers at Hospice in the Weald, saving the charity an estimated £1 million a year. This means that for every £1 donated to Hospice in the Weald, 90p is spent directly on patient care.
We literally could not provide our services to terminally ill patients and their families without volunteers. Joanna said, “It is a joy to volunteer at Hospice in the Weald. I initially got involved when a friend of mine was cared for by the Hospice in the Home Service. Being in a position to support the vital care Hospice in the Weald provides is very special.”
We can’t do it alone! We rely on those from the community we serve becoming volunteer. If you would like to find out more about volunteering please do get in touch with Julia Cronin- HR Assistant, on 01892 820529 or firstname.lastname@example.org or click here for more information
