Herd’s big round-up!
October sees us bid a very sad farewell to the wonderful 24 life-size horses that have been part of the Herd of the Hospice? campaign. Firm offers could be placed on the horses throughout September, with all of the horses going to live auction on Wednesday 11th October. The camapign has raised a stagering £100,000 to date.
We are completely overwhelmed by the response the herd received, thank you so much for your support. The herd had a very busy summer grazing in parks and public spaces across East Kent and West Sussex; four were even lucky enough to visit Ascot for the September race weekend! So many people joined the herd and posted selfies with the horses on social media. We have received so much positive feedback about the fun the herd encouraged and as always, we are so grateful to the community we serve for their support with the campaign.
For the first time, all of the 24 herd horses were available to view together at the Herd Public Exhibition, Royal Victoria Place, 3 October – 13 October. The herd were joined by 29 ponies designed and painted by local schools. The climax of the campaign was the sale of the herd horses, all of which are now galloping to their loving new owners.
If you loved seeing the herd horses in your local area this summer it’s not to late to text to donate in support of the campaign. Text herd to 70660 to donate £3 to Hospice in the Weald.
