Paddock Wood’s Fresh Produce Centre gives Hospice a £20,323 charity boost
Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to staff at The Fresh Produce Centre, Paddock Wood, who have beaten their charity fundraising target by raising £20,323 for Hospice in The Weald funds over the past two years.
Charity Champions at the company, one of the hospice’s leading Business Partners, had set itself the challenge of raising £10,000 a year by participating in a wide range of activities and events.
Employees from across the business took part in sky dives, bike rides, marathons and 10k runs. One cyclist alone raised £2,220 when he took part in a mammoth bike ride from Paddock Wood to Ireland. Other events included charity auctions, quiz nights, and raffles.
Denise Pantrey, one of the charity champions within the Fresh Produce Centre, said: “We are so pleased that we exceeded our target because we were always aware that every pound raised would go towards such a wonderful cause. We also enjoyed the activities as well. And I am sure it was good for teamwork.”
“This is a phenomenal achievement,” said Ewan Tuohy, the Hospice’s Relationship Fundraising Manager. “We cannot thank and praise enough all those who took part in the charity activities. The funds will be so important for our vital service.”
In addition to raising funds The Fresh Produce Centre, part of Fresca Group, has generously provided fresh fruit, such as bananas and strawberries, in support of leading Hospice events.
