Light up a Life 2020
"You never want the illness to define your loved one’s life. You can’t let it override the wonderful memories, those moments you treasure." Teresa, Mum to Natasha
As this extraordinary year starts to draw to a close, we invite you to take a moment to reflect, to remember your loved ones and celebrate the wonderful memories of them that you treasure.
Support Hospice in the Weald with a donation to our Light up a Life appeal in memory of your loved one and help ensure that every patient can access the care based on their needs.
Join us at this time to remember and celebrate your loved one, just like Teresa who will be celebrating the life of her dancing loving daughter, Natasha. She spent her final weeks at the Hospice in December, her favourite time of year. Knowing this, a nurse painted Natasha’s nails red, so she felt in the festive spirit.
“This gesture of kindness meant so much to us. Tasha was able to see the Christmas tree and attend the Light up a Life service, held outside, all wrapped up in blankets in her wheelchair. The joy she felt was seen in that smile” says Teresa. You can read their full story here.
Remember your loved one today with a donation to the Light up a Life appeal and help ensure that every patient receives care based on their needs.
Light up a Life service
Our annual Light up a Life service is a wonderful way to join others in remembrance of your loved ones. This year to ensure for the safety of our community and loved ones, in place of our usual service, we will be holding the Light up a Life service online. Join us here on the website on 5th December from 5:30pm, when our service will be available to view.
The service is held in front of the beautiful Christmas trees in the Hospice in the Weald, led by the Chaplains. Whilst we won't be able to gather together physically, we will still come together in memory and celebration of our loved ones with this service.
If you are not able to join the services on the 5th December, you can still be part of our community of Light up a Life! We will be making the service available through our website throughout the festive period – just come back to the website to view it.
