COVID Secure Fundraising

All of our Fundraising Activities and Events will be following the relevant Government Guidance in order to keep you, our Supporters and our Staff and Volunteers safe, whilst still having a good time and raising funds to support the Hospice.

If you're planning your own Fundraising, it's important that you consider what you can do to make sure that everyone is safe and to follow all government guidance applicable at the time. We've listed below some of the guidance that we use to help you on your way. If you have any questions specific to your fundraising and want to talk to a member of our team, you can contact Aimee, Relationship Fundraising Assistant on Aimee.Frost@hospiceintheweald.org.uk or 01892 820533.

Prepare signage for “Hands, Face, Space”
Keep your activity outdoors in the fresh air where possible
Consider having your attendees in time slots to reduce crowding
Ask attendees before arrival to wear a face covering
Limit numbers to allow for Social Distancing and maximum group sizes

During Event
Make sure hand sanitising stations are in prominent positions and kept topped up
Encourage attendees to wear a face covering
For areas where you may expect queuing, use physical markers such as tape on the floor to show a 2 meter distance.
Regularly clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces
Ask attendees to leave their contact details for ‘Track and Trace’ purposes

Post event
Create a plan for contacting event-goers after the event, should it become necessary to notify them of exposure to COVID-19.

We've compiled this list from the guidance that we use for our events such as Hospice Run. If you'd like to read the long version, click here.
