Starlight Stroll is a special evening where friends, family and strangers come together to remember loved ones who are no longer with us. On the night of the event each participant decorates a lantern in memory of the special person they are walking for.
This year we want your pupils to channel their inner artist and get creative to decorate their own paper lantern with drawings, pictures and words inspired by one of our themes.
Choose one of our Design a Lantern themes for students to draw inspiration from:
1) Your favourite memory
2) What makes you happy
3) Your family
We thought it would be extra fun if you could incorporate an own clothes day as part of the competition so that students can express themselves through their art and style!
Best lantern design from all participating schools.

All students who take part are encouraged to donate £1.
100% of money raised will be donated to Hospice in the Weald.
Once you have completed the sign up form, a fundraiser will be in contact with you to arrange a day to drop off competition materials. This includes lantern templates (equal to amount of students in school) and secured donation buckets.
Teacher’s will be in charge of choosing the best designs from their school for the following categories:
– Best design from each year group
– Best design from the whole school
The winners should then be given a real paper lantern to design with the same artwork as their template.
The school should scan and submit their ‘Best design from the whole school’ design template to the Hospice. This will be used to decide the ULTIMATE SUPERSTAR winner which takes into account all school submissions.
Once winner’s have designed their lanterns and we have recieved all submissions, a Hospice fundraiser will collect the lanterns and donation buckets before providing prizes to the winners on the 15th of October.
Deadline for submissions: 11th October 2021
