Patients, families and carers are at the heart of all that we do.
Our volunteers support the delivery of care in all of our Services: In-patient Ward, Hospice Outreach Service, Hospice Day Service, Counselling and Support Service and Cottage Hospice.
Maybe you could visit patients, families or carers at home? Help out with arts and crafts in our Hospice Day Service? Or offer a complementary therapy?
We have a wide range of roles where you can help us to offer that bit extra to our patients, families and carers.

As part of the Counselling and Support Service (C&SS) you will provide counselling to patients and those important to them. This is a vital role in providing emotional and psychological support to people both in pre- and post-bereavement and it is important to be highly sensitive to the needs of patients and those important to them. Volunteers will also be expected to support other activities run by C&SS such as bereavement events.
This is a great opportunity to be part of a caring and professional service.

Welcome Team (Ward)
As part of the Welcome Team you would be the 1st member of the Ward Team a visitor meets when coming to the Hospice. Therefore, it is vitality important that they are greeted appropriately to ensure their experience is a good one.
This role supports the Ward Team with a variety of administative tasks. You will have a friendly, helpful manner with a good knowledge of microsoft outlook and confidence on the telephone.
We aim to cover the Ward welcome desk from 9.00am to 6.00pm 7 days a week. Current vacancies:
Wednesday – 1-5pm
Friday – 9am-1pm
Saturday – 9-1 and 1-5

Could you help out on our Reception desk at the Hospice in Pembury?
Every day we have many people visiting the Hospice for various reasons and we need receptionists who are compassionate and friendly to join our team!
We are particularly looking for people to cover our Friday afternoons and Saturday and Sunday shifts. The reception is open from 9am to 5pm with two shifts per day. The morning shift is from 9am to 1pm and the afternoon shift is from 1pm to 5pm.

Catering Host (Ward)
We are looking for someone to assist with the presentation and distribution of patients’ food and drinks on the Ward.
You will help co-ordinate any requests from patients to the catering team, carry out patient and visitor drinks rounds on the Ward and ensure that visitors are informed of where they can purchase food and drinks whilst visiting their loved ones.
There are currently vacancies for Saturday and Wednesday breakfast (8am - 10am), Saturday supper (5pm to 7pm) and Sunday lunch (12 - 2pm)
