The Quiet Room Gatherings
These Gatherings take place in the Quiet Room and are open to all who may wish to attend. We follow a very informal and simple format of prayers with reflection. Everyone has the opportunity to light a candle and we have a quiet time for listening to a piece of music together. Many find these gatherings supportive, inspiring and a welcome opportunity for quiet reflection in the middle of the day before lunch.
Hear from some of our patients who attend:
“I love to light the candles”
“It helps me find some peace with everything that’s going on in my life right now”
“When I was having chemo it really gave me strength to share with the others at the gathering and know they were praying for me”
"I never did go to church but I like coming to the Gathering and wouldn't miss it"
“Sometimes one of us is moved by the readings or music, memories come back and we may feel sad but we all support each other and it’s OK. Other times we may laugh and celebrate positive things like getting good news from a scan, someone’s birthday etc so it’s a mixture and every day is different”
Those who like to receive Holy Communion are welcome to stay on and do so after these gatherings.
