The craft group, in the Hospice Day Service, operates every day from 11am to 1pm. Run by Julie Annis, our activities co-ordinator, and creative arts volunteers, the group provides a huge range of crafts to access throughout the year. A wide range of skills are taught including metalwork, jewellery-making, glass painting, textile crafts, ceramics and larger collaborative projects. We also have visiting local crafts people giving talks and demonstrations as well as the occasional outing.
The craft group helps to boost confidence and gives a sense of purpose whilst providing peer support. The group is a very therapeutic environment but with lots of energy, inspiration and enthusiasm.
