The In-Patient Ward Team
A multi-professional team will all work closely together to ensure consistency of care for both you and your family. The In-Patient Ward is led by the Matron, supported by Sisters and a team of Registered Nurses and Nursing Assistants who have a variety of experience and are trained in palliative and end-of-life care. They understand that this is a difficult time for you and your relatives and aim to ensure that the highest level of dignity and quality of life is achieved.
Your medical condition and needs will be assessed daily by your medical team, led by the palliative care consultant. She is supported by speciality doctors and doctors who are fully qualified and training further to become consultants in palliative care or GPs in the community. Click here to meet the Medical Team.
You may also be visited on the In-Patient Ward by other healthcare professionals including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Complimentary Therapists, a Spiritual Care Chaplain or one of our Counsellors.
The nursing and medical teams are supported by a Ward Office Co-ordinator for administration and a team of Volunteers who will be happy to answer any queries you have about the In-Patient Ward. And if what you really want is a nice cup of tea, they’ll be happy to bring that too!
