Your stay- amenities and comfort
The In-Patient Ward is made up of one ward with 15 individual rooms, which are all en-suite. One side overlooks our beautiful gardens, the other looks out onto Kentish oast houses and an apple orchard.
Each room has a TV, DVD player, dressing table with a lockable drawer and riser recliner chair. There are phones in each room accessible via the main hospice number. You can also use your mobile phone on the In-Patient Ward. We also have wi-fi, the username and password is available from any member of staff. We can order in your favourite daily newspaper.
We don’t charge for our care, but ask you to cover the cost of the newspapers as well as any phone calls made.
These are around 8:30am, 12.30pm and 6.00pm, but if the times aren’t suitable for you, we can reserve a meal for when you are ready. We have an itemised menu each day, plus another light bite and snack options menu which is available all the time and includes small meals such as crumpets, scrambled egg on toast, ice cream, fruit or smoothies/milkshakes. If in doubt or you have a particular fancy, just ask and we will do our best. Please let us know of any special dietary requests or allergies.
We have a separate sitting room where you are welcome to relax with your family. This opens out onto our beautiful gardens where, weather permitting, you can also sit with your family and friends.
Prayer Gathering and Labyrinth
At 12:15pm, our spiritual care chaplain holds a prayer gathering in our Quiet Room for patients and relatives who all are welcome to attend. Where possible, you may also like to go outside to use our Labyrinth.
While you are with us on the In-Patient Unit, we may recommend one of our other services such as Complementary Therapies , Creative Arts, Music Therapy, Counselling Support Service , Spiritual Support , Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy . You can request these yourself if you or your close family are interested and we will arrange it where appropriate to do so.
