Our Carer Support team of volunteers may be able to assist you in applying for Attendance Allowance (AA), Personal Independence Payments (PIP), Macmillan Grant or a Blue Badge.
These are non means tested benefits to which you may be entitled. Attendance Allowance (AA) is for those over 65 years old and Personal Independence Payments (PIP) (previously DLA) is for those under 65 years needing assistance with care. The Blue Badge is the disabled parking scheme.
For those families who are suffering financial difficulties due to cancer, we may be able to assist you in applying for a one-off Macmillan Grant to help you with every day costs such as fares to hospital for treatment, convalescent breaks and heating bills. This is a means tested award.
If you would like assistance with applying for these benefits; please speak to your Clinical Nurse Specialist who will liaise with the Carer Support co-ordinator.
We are aware that the benefits system is complicated and we will signpost you effectively to support a wide variety of other benefit applications.
