The In-patient Unit at the Hospice in the Weald provides not only physical but emotional, social and spiritual care for patients and their families.

The unit is staffed by nurses qualified in the provision of specialist palliative care for patients with life threatening illnesses.

We aim to provide the highest possible standard of care to meet the needs of the individual. On admission each patient is assigned a nurse who will plan and co ordinate their care with patients wishes being at the heart of each individual programme.

Due to our low level of Government funding we are only able to have 10 of our 17 beds open and therefore the In-patient Unit is unable to provide patients with long term care. The average length of stay is currently around 11 days.

If you would like further information about In-patient facilities, please e-mail enquiries@hospiceintheweald.org.uk, fax or telephone the Hospice so that we can provide more detailed information about the services that we offer.
