Volunteering

“Hospice in the Weald is happy and proud to be dependent on our Volunteers. We have them in every service and every department. We train them and support them and they’re valued by us and the patients.”
Rob Woolley, CEO

“The volunteers are amazing! They don’t have to come and yet they absolutely love it”

Teamwork is the key to success in hospice care and our volunteers are very much part of the team that has evolved as the organisation has grown.

We are always looking to build our existing teams and we are keen to expand opportunities for those who wish to volunteer. Some of the ideas have come from volunteers themselves.

We are a local charity rooted in, and reliant on, our local community!

How Volunteering helps us

Volunteers help provide all those little extra services that make hospice care special.

The greatest benefit to the Hospice is that giving your time freely means more care can be provided at no extra cost to the charity.

How Volunteering helps you

Whatever your working experience or life experience, you can benefit others through volunteering. You’ll find your skills and talents are respected and valued.

Working as a volunteer can improve your career prospects and it can develop your skills, knowledge and self confidence.

Experience as a volunteer looks good on your CV because it shows you are responsible, committed and that you care.
