Illness can compromise the way people manage day-to-day activities whether personal, domestic or social.
The aim of the Occupational Therapist at the Hospice is to maintain a person's independence and quality of life by suggesting compensatory strategies, teaching new skills and giving advice and information about equipment. This service is offered both at home and in the Hospice.
Occupational Therapy can assist with:

- Getting around indoors
- Conserving energy
- Coping with breathlessness
- Relaxation techniques
- Getting out and about
- Information and advice regarding equipment
- General discussion and advice for patients and their families
