How Your Care Is Funded
Hospice in the Weald makes no charge for the medical, nursing and support services it provides for its patients, their families and carers.
The Hospice depends on the generosity of its community to fund 90% of its operating costs. Statutory funding received from the NHS amounts to less than half that provided to the average adult hospice, but despite this low level of Government funding, the Hospice has succeeded in expanding its services and helping more people year on year.
This achievement has been possible through the marvellous support we receive from businesses, trusts, and associations, together with support for the Hospice Events, Hospice Lottery and Hospice Shops, and the kindness of individuals who make donations and leave gifts in their Wills.
90% of all the funds raised is spent directly on Hospice services, and every donation received is vital to enable the Hospice to care for all those that need our help.
