What we do

Each morning, come rain or shine, our loyal teams of enthusiastic volunteers, supported by a professional manager, open the doors to the 15 Hospice in the Weald shops scattered throughout our catchment area of West Kent and East Sussex.

Each shop prides itself on delivering consistently great quality donated goods, at sensible prices and the level of service you would expect from a High Street store.

The money raised by our shops contributes significantly to the running costs of Hospice in the Weald. Help us to fund vital services in your community by purchasing high quality, pre-loved items and greetings cards from your local Hospice in the Weald shop.

A potted history

Our first adventures in retail began 25 years ago with a small mobile shop (see picture opposite). The mobile shop proved so popular with local residents that by popular demand a permanent shop was opened on Camden Road in Tunbridge Wells. We still have that shop today, we still trade from it and we like to think the pioneers of the mobile shop would be proud of what we are still doing there.

As time progressed and Hospice in the Weald grew so too did the number of shops, present day finds us with 15 shops and more in the pipeline.

We’ve come a long way in the last 25 years – watch what we do in the next 25!
