Hospice in the Weald invite you to join one of our exciting appeals:
Garden for Memories
A special Garden for Memories will be created by our dedicated team of volunteer gardeners within the Hospice grounds that will provide the perfect spot to linger and enjoy cherished memories. Part of the garden will be for the exclusive use of our Day Therapy patients.
Memories can be stirred by all five senses; beautiful flowers, pots of fragrant herbs, grasses that rustle in the wind, the delicate tinkle of wind chimes and the cooling sound of water. These all create an aura of tranquility in which to reflect on good times in the past and face the future with renewed assurance.
When you make a donation, you can write your own personal memory which can be read on the Hospice's Memory Board for two weeks. We will then remove all the memories and eventually they will be composted to be used in the care of the garden for the benefit of future generations. Your loved one's name will be recorded in a special Dedication Book which will be on display at the Hospice.
Whether or not your loved one has received care from Hospice in the Weald, this Scented Garden will provide a very special place for you - a place of splendid tranquility where your treasured memories live on.
"What a lovely idea. My mother received Hospice care during her last weeks and I shall be eternally grateful."
